Volunteers are an invaluable resource to our teachers and students. Schools that have a strong school volunteer base perform better. Our school has endless responsibilities but limited resources. Volunteers help bridge that gap. Taking tasks off the plate of teachers, administration, and staff frees them up to do what they do best: educate our kids!
We get it. Parents are busy and often have limited spare time. Luckily, there are many opportunities to volunteer outside of school hours.
Particularly in the lower grades, teachers need help with things like managing small groups, preparing lesson materials, and assembling packets to take home. Email your teacher and ask how you can help.
Pomelo gets the most out of enrichment programs like PE/Psychomotor and Garden when volunteers lend a hand.
Help with communication between the teacher/school and the families in your class. Attend Team Pomelo Meetings to keep up to date, manage class fund, gifts, and assist teacher with organizing class events/parties.
Our many fundraising activities and events need all hands on deck!
Learn more about our school Governance Council and Local School Leadership Council, where decisions affecting the whole school are made. And of course, attend our monthly Team Pomelo meeting!
You don't need any special skills to volunteer, but if you have a talent you'd like to put to use--let us know! Great with electronics? Got an eye for graphic design? Got a green thumb? Know how to use WordPress? We've got a place for you!
Complete the volunteer applications in the link below and return to the Pomelo Front Office.
